Corrie characters 'to tie the knot'

Coronation Street's Ashley Peacock will finally get married to his long standing nanny Claire Casey, The Sun reveals today.

Ashley (Steven Arnold) will finally ask Claire (Julia Haworth) to marry him after battling with his feelings towards her for months after the death of his first wife Maxine, who was brutally killed by evil Richard Hillman.

A Street insider said: "After seeing how well she looks after Joshua, Ashley will decide Claire is his best chance for happiness. Claire is the exact opposite of flighty Maxine. She’s reliable, strong-minded and sensible.

"He deserves a bit of happiness but, as you know, with Corrie things don’t often go just to plan."

Viewers should expect to see Ashley and Claire 'tie the knot' towards the end of the year.
