Ex-footballer David Ginola will star in a special episode of Holby City set in France, according to The Sun today.
Ginola will play the part of Phillipe Lestocquoy, a doctor asked to perform an operation which can only be carried out in Paris.
A BBC insider told the paper: "Producers are very excited and think he will be a huge hit with female viewers. The character is cast specifically to be a smouldering sexy French doctor and the women will love it.
"David sees this as his big break into the BBC, and this could lead to other meaty drama roles."
Filming is set to start tomorrow, and the special episode will be seen on our screens in November.
