EastEnders was the most watched soap last night, averaging 8.51m (39%).

The BBC soap's 7.30pm outing, which saw Theo continue to muscle in on the Trueman family, was later repeated at 10pm on BBC Three, adding a further 590k (3.3%).

Jimmy's bid to prove his love for Nicola in Emmerdale, meanwhile, was seen by 6.64m (32.7%) at 7pm.

BBC One's Doctors transmission at 1.45pm, called 'Over The Cracks', attracted 1.67m (27%).

Hollyoaks' daily 6.30pm dose, during which Nancy and Russ were shocked by each other's revelations about Kris and Ravi, logged 1.65m (8.6%) in its traditional 6.30pm slot.

The 7pm first look instalment on E4 delivered 478k (2.6%) at 7pm, before its timeshift repeat on E4+1 added 156k (0.8%).

Five's Neighbours, meanwhile, averaged 1.49m (10.7%) at 5.30pm, while its Fiver repeat at 7pm put in 349k (1.9%)

Completing Five's Aussie hour, Home and Away's 6pm screening, which saw Kane struggle to come to terms with Kirsty's rejection, brought in 1.06m (6.2%). Fiver's first look at 6.30pm took 607k (3.6%).
