Coronation Street was the front runner in the soaps ratings last night, pulling in 8.96m (40.5%) at 7.30pm.

The later ITV2 repeat of the midweek instalment, which saw Tony suffer another guilt-induced panic attack, added a further 215k (2.3%) at 11pm.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's outing at 7pm, during which Maisie coerced Marlon into pretending to be her boyfriend, averaged 6.95m (33.6%).

Channel 4's Hollyoaks logged 1.89m (9.6%) for its 6.30pm episode, in which Calvin's suspicions of Warren and Sasha's connection heightened. The timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 added 108k (0.5%).

E4's first look edition at 7pm interested 583k (3.1%), before its repeat on E4+1 added a further 148k (0.7%).

BBC One's screening of Doctors, titled 'Keep It In The Family', brought in 1.7m (22.6%) at 1.45pm.

The continued worry as to Zeke's whereabouts in Neighbours continued last night, with Five's traditional 5.30pm transmission taking 1.61m (11.2%). Fiver's 7pm repeat added 326k (1.8%).

Martha's decision to part with Jack's belongings in Home and Away attracted 1.16m (6.5%) at 6pm on Five, before Fiver's first look was seen by 689k (3.9%).
