Coronation Street was the most watched soap last night, despite logging its lowest mid-week figures since December.

ITV's Wednesday night trip to Weatherfield, which saw Peter take Michelle on a less-than-successful date, attracted 8.03m (38.2%) at 7.30pm. ITV2's repeat at 12.45am added a further 124k (4.2%).

Meanwhile, Nathan's futile attempt to punch Andy in Emmerdale was seen by 6.16m (32.7%) at 7pm.

BBC One's daily visit to Birmingham-based Doctors interested 1.68m (22.6%) for its episode entitled 'One For The Road'.

Channel 4's 6.30pm outing of Hollyoaks, which saw Gaz step up his bullying campaign against Anita, logged 1.59m (9%).

E4's first look edition interested 516k (2.1%) at 7pm, before its timeshift repeat on E4+1 added 164k (0.8%).

Neighbours' 5.30pm screening on Five put in 1.32m (10.6%), while Fiver's repeat at 7pm added a further 337k (2%).

Five's usual 6pm episode of Home and Away attracted 927k (5.8%), before Fiver's first look transmission had 566k (3.6%).
