Sanderson signs new Corrie contract

Coronation Street star Nikki Sanderson has signed a new £80,000 contract after producers told her they had 'big plans' for her character Candice Stowe.

Sanderson's on-screen character will start dating Footballer and newcomer to the Street, Warren Baldwin (Danny Young). Warren arrives on the infamous cobbles later this week to live with his parents, Danny and Frankie Baldwin (Bradley Walsh and Debra Stephenson).

A Corrie insider told The Sun: "Producers were keen to sign Nikki up and giver her bigger storylines. Some say her character Candice has been in the shadow of Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Maria Sutherland (Samia Ghadi) and producers were concerned she was getting other offers or considering a singing career."
