Soaps Ratings Roundup: April 14

EastEnders took a significant lead over Emmerdale in the soaps ratings battle last night, according to early ratings figures.

Tuesday night's instalment of the Walford soap, which featured the first half of Danielle's funeral, attracted 8.13m (37.2%) at 7.30pm.

BBC Three's later 10pm repeat was the most watched multichannel programme of the day, adding a further 862k (4.8%).

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's outing, which saw David upset Leyla, attracted 6.46m (32.8%) in its usual 7pm slot.

Doctors' first post-Easter episode, entitled 'Got The T Shirt', averaged 1.66m (22.1%) at 1.45pm.

Hollyoaks's daily 6.30pm edition on Channel 4, during which Frankie refused to let Nancy see baby Charlie, was watched by 1.63m (9%), before 687k (2.9%) caught E4's first look at 7pm on E4. E4+1's timeshift repeat added 107k (0.5%) at 8pm.

Five's screening of Neighbours at 5.30pm had 1.36m (10.1%), then Fiver's repeat at 7pm added 193k (1.1%).

Joey and Charlie's controversial lesbian kiss during last night's Home and Away put in 1.12m (6.8%) at 6pm, before Fiver's first look took 505k (3.1%).
