BBC One's first Walford instalment of the week, which saw Masood worrying about his wife Zainab, delivered 8.89m (41.4%) at 8pm.
BBC Three's 10pm repeat was the most watched multichannel programme of the day, logging 682k (4%).
ITV's two outings of Coronation Street at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, during which Luke accidentally brought back painful memories for Maria and Tara upped her revenge plot, averaged 8.47m (42.3%) and 8.52m (37%) respectively.
The later ITV2 repeats between 11.45pm and 12.45am added 127k (2.6%) and 93k (2.6%).
Emmerdale's screening at 7pm, during which Mark attempted to buy Faye off with a luxury flat, attracted 6.02m (33.8%).

Meanwhile, BBC One's daytime medical drama Doctors had its lowest audience in months, drawing 1.36m (23.4%) at 1.45pm for an episode entitled 'Unchained Melody'.
Five's transmission of Neighbours at 5.30pm, which saw Elle and Lucas make a shocking discovery, interested 1.25m (10.3%), while Fiver's 7pm repeat added 253k (1.6%).
Home and Away's Monday outing, in which Leah and Roman were involved in a car accident, averaged 1.1m (7.2%) at 6pm, while Fiver's first look had 629k (4.2%).
