Coronation Street was the most watched soap on Friday night, attracting around 8m for each episode.

The Weatherfield soap's final two instalments of the week, which saw Ken hand Deirdre his leaving letter and Tara resolve to exact her revenge, were watched by 7.99m (41%) and 8.19m (38.4%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats between 11pm and midnight had 333k (2.8%) and 345k (4%).

EastEnders' Friday edition, which saw Jack profess his love to Ronnie over the airport tannoy system, drew 7.97m (39.2%) at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added a further 549k (3.1%), making it the most watched multichannel programme of the day.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's offering, during which Nicola discovered she was pregnant, attracted 5.88m (33.1%).

Doctors' outing, entitled 'Clubbing Together', put in 1.56m (23.8%) at 1.45pm.

Neighbours' screening at its usual time of 5.30pm interested 1.4m (11.1%), while Fiver's repeat at 7pm added 221k (1.4%).

Hannah and Justin's romantic kiss to the backdrop of a McFly gig during Hollyoaks was seen by 1.32m (7.9%) at 6.30pm, before E4's first look had 503k (3.2%) 30 minutes later.

Home and Away's last episode of the week, which saw Jai and Trey start a fire, managed 1.04m (6.8%), while Fiver's first look took 491k (3.4%).
