Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Friday as its final two episodes of the week were seen by 8.7m and 7.6m viewers.

The double bill, which saw Chesney rumble Fiz's visits to the prison and the Grimshaws attend Colin's funeral, averaged 8.74m (44.7%) and 7.6m (35.8%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats between midnight and 1am added a further 210k (3.6%) and 172k (3.7%).

EastEnders' outing, during which Jay finally discovered the truth about his father's death, delivered 7.77m (38.3%). BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 556k (3.2%).

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's offering averaged 6.21m (34.6%) in its usual 7pm slot.

Channel 4's Hollyoaks screening took 1.69m (10%) at 6.30pm, before its timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 added 121k (0.7%). E4's first look interested 424k (2.7%) at 7pm.

BBC One's edition of Doctors, titled 'Beating About The Bush' had 1.47m (22.5%) at 1.45pm.

Five's episode of Neighbours, which featured Bridget attempting to help Ty with his fears, was seen by 1.38m (11.4%) at 5.30pm. Fiver's 7pm repeat added a further 176k (1.1%).

Home and Away's showing at 6pm on Five attracted 1.21m (7.9%), before Fiver's first look instalment took 604k (4%)
