Soaps Ratings Roundup: May 25

Coronation Street led Bank Holiday Monday's soap ratings, overnight figures show.

Last night's two showings at 7.30pm and 8.30pm, during which Chesney returned home and Sally came to blows with Fiz, averaged 8.44m (38.4%) and 9.09m (36.5%) respectively.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from 12.30am added a further 131k (3.3%) and 124k (4.6%).

EastEnders' first episode of trial week, which saw Terry Bates's wife Viv threaten Billy against attending court, logged 7.68m (32.8%) at 8pm. BBC Three's repeat at 10pm added 481k (2.1%).

ITV's Emmerdale outing, which featured Faye learning of Mark and Natasha's vow renewal ceremony, drew 6.36m (31.2%) at 7pm.

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks' stunt week began with its lowest audience since the beginning of the month, averaging 1.15m (6%) at 6.30pm. Channel 4+1's timeshift showing added 186k (0.9%). E4's first look managed 453k (2.5%) at 7pm.

The Bank Holiday dented Five's Australian soap hour, with Neighbours' audience dipping to its lowest in over a year with 1m (7.3%) at 5.30pm. Home and Away, meanwhile, fell way below the million mark, averaging only 809k (5%) - its lowest figures since November 28.

Fiver's Neighbours repeat at 7pm added a further 178k (1%), while the channel's first look edition of Home and Away put in 393k (2.3%)
