
Coronation Street took the lead in the early evening soaps ratings battle last night, according to early figures.
The Weatherfield serial's first two episodes of the week, during which both Peter and Luke declared their love for Michelle and Eddie's dishonesty was exposed, delivered 7.51m (41.8%) and 8.05m (38.3%).
ITV2's repeats in the hour from 12.15am added 83k (2.2%) and 123k (5.2%) respectively.
BBC One's outing of EastEnders at 8pm, which saw Nick and Dotty put their plan into action to kill Dot, averaged 7.91m (39.7%). BBC Three's multichannel repeat drew 644k (3.5%) at 10pm.
Meanwhile, Bob and Gennie's kiss in Emmerdale was seen by 5.47m (33.2%) at 7pm.

Hollyoaks' first episode in the wake of stunt week attracted 1.43m (9.4%) at 6.30pm, before Channel 4+1's timeshift repeat added 139k (0.8%).
Meanwhile, E4's first look was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, taking 702k (4.7%) at 7pm.
BBC One's instalment of Doctors, titled 'Carpe Diem', put in 1.36m (23.5%) in its usual 1.45pm slot.
Home and Away's screening at 6pm, during which Gardy threw Roman off a bridge, drew 1.05m (7.6%), while Fiver's first look had 489k (3.6%).
