Coronation Street's double bill took the lead in Monday night's soap ratings, early figures show.

The two episodes, during which David revelled in the aftermath of the burglary and Becky dragged Poppy out of the pub by her hair, were watched by 8.95m (43.3%) and 8.16m (36.2%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats between 11pm and midnight added 178k (1.9%) and 155k (2.4%).

BBC One's edition of Walford drama EastEnders, which saw Ronnie sabotaging a condom in a hope of becoming pregnant, averaged 8.39m (37.7%). BBC Three's 10pm repeat added a further 539k (3.1%).

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's offering interested 6.22m (32.6%) at 7pm.

Channel 4's traditional 6.30pm showing of Hollyoaks delivered 1.6m (8.8%), before Channel 4+1's timeshift repeat added 116k (0.6%).

E4's first look at 7pm drew 617k (3%), while E4+1's screening added a further 135k (0.6%).

Due to Friday's election coverage, BBC One screened two episodes of Doctors yesterday. The first, 'No Rest For The Wicked' took 1.48m (23.8%) at 1.55pm. Thirty minutes later, 'Chicken Boy' put in 1.43m (22.7%).

Five's Neighbours logged 1.32m (10.1%) at 5.30pm, before Fiver's 7pm repeat added 164k (1%).

Home and Away completed Five's Australian hour, with 1.04m (6.3%) tuning in at 6pm. A further 539k (3.3%) caught Fiver's first look at 7pm.
