Coronation Street's double bill led the soap ratings battle on Friday evening, early figures show.

The Manchester soap's final two episodes of the week, which saw David confess to setting Garry up for the burglary and Fiz losing it with Sally in the factory, were seen by 7.81m (41.7%) and 7.03m (33.2%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from 12.15am added a further 114k (2%) and 131k (3.2%).

EastEnders' instalment at 8pm, during which Theo confronted Chelsea about her promiscuity, logged 7.29m (36.8%). BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 581k (3.3%).

Meanwhile, Emmerdale had 5.35m (32.3%) in its traditional 7pm time slot.

Hollyoaks' 6.30pm offering on Channel 4 put in 1.38m (8.7%), before E4's first look drew 468k (3.2%).

BBC One's screening of Doctors at 1.45pm, titled 'The Real Me' had 1.31m (20.8%).

Five's episode of Neighbours, which saw Elle discover Lucas's stash of love letters, managed 1.23m (9.6%), while Fiver's repeat transmission at 7pm added 112k (0.8%).

Home and Away, meanwhile, attracted its lowest audience since the end of last month, taking a mere 782k (5.4%) at 6pm. Fiver's 6.30pm first look took 437k (3.1%).
