EastEnders was the most-watched soap yesterday, overnight figures show.

The BBC soap's penultimate episode of the week, which saw Peggy and Sal discover an engagement ring in Jack's flat, was seen by 7.46m (38.9%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added a further 753k (4.2%).

Emmerdale's instalment, during which Nicola and Jimmy attended their baby scan, interested 5.75m (31.3%) at 7pm.

Ravi and Caleb's fisticuffs in Hollyoaks were seen by 1.44m (8.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, before E4's first look drew 597k (3.6%). E4+1's timeshift repeat added 186k (1%).

Neighbours' screening at 5.30pm on Five, in which Cass's mystery caller was finally revealed, logged 1.29m (9.7%), while Fiver's 7pm repeat added a further 213k (1.3%).

Hugo's return to Summer Bay was seen by 927k (5.7%), while Fiver's first look Home and Away managed 531k (3.4%).
