Soaps Ratings Roundup: June 19

ITV's Coronation Street came out on top in Friday evening's soap ratings battle, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield serial's final two instalments of the week, in which Becky's old friend Slug made a surprise reappearance and Luke began to charm Rosie in the hope of securing a cash investment, were watched by 7.96m (40.9%) and 7.63m (35.5%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats between 11pm and midnight added a further 257k (2.1%) and 296k (3.2%).

Syed and Christian's cliffhanger kiss to EastEnders' week of episodes was seen by 7.62m (37.8%) at 8pm, before BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 534k (3%).

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's offering at 7pm interested 5.85m (32.4%).

Channel 4's Hollyoaks outing, which saw the students receive their degree classifications, managed 1.32m (7.7%) at 6.30pm, while E4's first look took 529k (3.2%). E4+1's timeshift repeat added 113k (0.6%).

Five's screening of Neighbours at 5.30pm drew 1.13m (8.5%). Fiver's 7pm repeat logged 263k (1.6%).

Home and Away's episode, which saw Geoff issue Claudia with an ultimatum, averaged 856k (5.4%) at 6pm. Fiver's first look put in 465k (3%).
