Liz Dawn to leave Corrie next year
Coronation Street favourite Liz Dawn has announced that she is quitting the show, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Liz, who has played Vera Duckworth on the ITV1 soap for 30 years, will apparently retire to Spain when her contract runs out next summer.

While speaking at a charity function, Liz said, "I've done enough. I'd like to walk off into the sunset with Monica the dog."

Liz also hinted that Bill Tarmey, who plays husband Jack Duckworth, would be leaving with her, because Jack couldn't go on without Vera.

She said, "They come as a pair."
