Soaps Ratings Roundup: July 1

Coronation Street led yesterday's soap ratings, overnight figures show.

The soap's midweek instalment, which saw Maria go into labour on Southport beach, averaged 7.09m (38.5%) at 7.30pm. ITV2's repeat at 11.15pm added a further 270k (2.9%).

Meanwhile, 5.16m (30.6%) tuned in to see Paddy's disastrous birthday in Emmerdale at 7pm.

Five's Australian soap hour logged reasonable figures. Declan's proposal in Neighbours attracted 1.27m (9.6%) at 5.30pm, before Home and Away had 1.12m (7.3%) half an hour later.

Fiver's Neighbours repeat at 7pm added 162k (1.1%), while Home and Away's first look drew 439k (3%).

Hollyoaks dipped to its lowest ratings since the beginning of last month, managing only 1.11m (6.8%). E4's first look took 392k (2.6%).
