Caine raises little voice about 'Enders

Concerned about the ailing British soap EastEnders, movie marvel Michael Caine, 71, believes he could lend a hand to save it, according to The Sun. Viewing figures for the soap fell to a low of 6.2million, prompting the resignation of boss Louise Berridge.
It seems that he would not go it alone - Gwyneth Paltrow would also be a great addition, he thinks. "I’d get Gwyneth to go out with all the British guys in the show — something controversial. She does a wonderful English accent. She does upper crust superbly. Get Gwyneth in the middle, so to speak."
He explained his logic of bringing film names in to soaps by pointing out that "Barbara Windsor was a big name in movies and she’s very happy doing it so it’s possible — and possible to do it with dignity."
"I think I could bring a lot to it. If I was in a situation where I was looking for work in British TV, EastEnders would be the one that would interest me," Sir Michael explained.
