Sam Aston, Coronation Street's Chesney Brown, will play Oliver Twist in a Street version of the musical for Children In Need, according to The Sun today.
The eleven-year-old star will appear alongside his on-screen "Uncle Les" - actor Bruce Jones - in scenes from the classic musical, which will appear during the BBC's annual telethon.
Jones will play orphanage boss Mr Bumble in the classic scene where Oliver asks for another bowl of gruel, begging, "Please Sir, I want some more."
Bradley Walsh, who plays factory boss Danny Baldwin on the soap, will also star as pickpocket Fagin.
An insider explained, "Sam's fantastic for the part. He's used to playing a character who goes through trials and tribulations."
