7.6m tune in for 'Enders proposal
EastEnders led the soap ratings on Thursday evening as 7.6m tuned in to see Syed propose to his girlfriend Amira.

The penultimate episode of the week averaged 7.64m (38%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's repeat, meanwhile, added a further 815k (4.6%) at 10pm and was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day.

Emmerdale's instalment, during which Bob took Viv and the twins on a picnic, logged 5.92m (31.7%) at 7pm.

Neighbours' outing at 5.30pm interested 1.42m (10.6%), while Fiver's repeat at 7pm added 254k (1.5%).

Channel 4's screening of Hollyoaks, which saw Newt make his first official visit to the McQueens as Theresa's boyfriend, drew 1.35m (7.6%) at 6.30pm, before E4's first look took 423k (2.5%). E4+1's timeshift repeat added a further 120k (0.6%).

Doctors' offering, titled 'Tracing The Lines' managed 1.23m (18.1%) in its traditional 1.45pm slot.

Five's episode of Home and Away, in which Geoff threw Claudia out of the house following her shock confession, attracted 1.18m (7.2%) at 6pm. Fiver's first look had 668k (4.2%) 30 minutes later.
