Coronation Street's final two episodes of the week led Friday night's soap ratings, according to early figures.

The Weatherfield soap's double bill, during which Ashley went for his vasectomy and Leon turned up at The Rovers, was watched by 7.33m (39.1%) and 7.89m (38.4%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from 11.45pm added a further 175k (2.6%) and 176k (3.7%).

BBC One's edition of EastEnders, which saw Ryan have second thoughts about leaving Walford, averaged 6.89m (35.3%) at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 550k (3.2%).

Mark's demand that Faye leave Emmerdale village was seen by 5.73m (32.3%) at 7pm.

Doctors' episode at 1.45pm on BBC One, titled 'History Repeated', had 1.53m (20.1%).

Channel 4's instalment of Hollyoaks, during which the Roy family were forced to come to terms with Ravi's condition, drew 1.47m (8.9%) at 6.30pm.

E4's 7pm first look, meanwhile, was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, logging 558k (3.4%).

Five's outing of Neighbours, which featured Steve's announcement that he intends to leave town, attracted 1.32m (10.6%) in its usual 5.30pm slot. Fiver's repeat at 7pm added 185k (1.1%).

Home and Away's screening at 6pm on Five managed 986k (6.5%), before Fiver's first look had 446k (3%).
