Coronation Street led the soap ratings last night, with 8.9m tuning in for both episodes.

The Weatherfield soap's double bill, during which Joe's painkiller withdrawal symptoms continued and Fiz's secret engagement to John was exposed, was seen by 8.85m (44.4%) and 8.94m (41.2%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from 11.15pm added a further 149k (1.8%) and 171k (3%).

EastEnders' instalment, during which Dawn made her choice between Garry and Phil, pulled in 8m (37.7%) at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, logging 651k (3.8%).
Nicola's fall down the stairs in Emmerdale at 7pm was watched by 6.52m (35.9%), its highest audience since July 6.

BBC One's screening of Doctors, titled 'No Way Out', put in 1.64m (21.7%) at 1.45pm.

Hollyoaks managed 1.49m (8.9%) for its 6.30pm showing, while E4's first look had 424k (2.6%).

Five's edition of Neighbours at 5.30pm interested 1.31m (10.5%), before Five's repeat at 7pm added 160k (1%).
