'As the World Turns' to be cancelled?
Published Wednesday, Aug 5 2009, 17:53 BST | By Darren Rowe

The daytime drama, which debuted in April 1956, has reportedly seen a decline in its ratings over recent years, prompting fears that CBS will not renew the show next year.
"It is also having ratings challenges," said studio president Nina Tassler. "It is hard to say [if it is safe]."
Tassler added that she didn't know when a decision about the programme's fate would be made.
In April, CBS cancelled the world's longest running scripted series Guiding Light after 72 years on the air.
