Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Friday evening, early figures show.

The Manchester soap's final two episodes of the week, during which David was accused of stealing Tina's bracelet before he was attacked in the street, had 7.36m (37%) and 7.81m (36.6%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from 11.35pm added 218k (2.4%) and 289k (4.5%) respectively.

BBC One's edition of EastEnders, which saw Phil admit to Minty that Dawn chose him over Garry, pulled in 7.14m (34.7%) at 8pm, before BBC Three's repeat added a further 615k (3.5%).

Emmerdale's offering at 7pm put in 5.64m (31.1%).

Ex-Corrie actor Matthew Crompton's guest appearance in Doctors' last instalment of the week, titled 'In The Cold Hard Light of Day', was seen by 1.48m (19.8%) at 1.45pm.

Five's episode of Neighbours, which saw Sunny fall down a cliff, interested 1.24m (9.8%) at 5.30pm, while a further 176k (1.1%) tuned in for Fiver's 7pm repeat.

Hollyoaks' screening, in which Daniel was arrested for attempted child abduction, drew 1.23m (7.3%) at 6.30pm, while Channel 4+1's timeshift repeat added 123k (0.7%). E4's first look logged 328k (2%).
