Doctors' episode, titled 'Shadow', averaged 1.55m (20.5%) at its usual time of 1.45pm.
Five's edition of Neighbours put in 1.37m (10.3%) at 5.30pm, while Fiver's 7pm repeat added 174k (1%).
Hollyoaks' final offering of the week interested 1.26m (7.1%) at 6.30pm, before E4's first look logged 413k (2.4%).
Home and Away dipped below the million mark only five days after returning from its summer break, averaging 981k (6.2%) at 6pm. Fiver's first look had 479k (3%).
