EastEnders took a comfortable lead in the soap ratings yesterday evening, overnight figures show.

The Walford soap's second outing of the week, which saw Minty discover Sam's return to the Square, had 7.67m (38.9%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, adding a further 980k (5.6%).

Meanwhile, Cain's run in with Michael during last night's Emmerdale was seen by 5.84m (31.8%) at 7pm.

BBC One's edition of Doctors, titled 'Hello, Hello, Hello', drew 1.68m (24.7%) at 1.45pm.

Hollyoaks' screening, during which Josh and Hayley shared a kiss, averaged 1.46m (8.5%) in its usual 6.30pm timeslot on Channel 4. E4's first look put in 567k (3.4%) at 7pm, before E4+1's timeshift repeat added 162k (0.8%).

Five's episode of Neighbours managed 1.36m (12.3%) at 5.30pm, while Fiver's 7pm repeat took 189k (1.1%).

Aden and Belle's wedding during Home and Away had 1.14m (7.3%) at 6pm, before Fiver's first look was watched by 593k (3.8%).
