Emmerdale was the most-watched soap yesterday, early figures show.

The rural soap's midweek episode, which saw Gennie confess to Jamie that she slept with his father, was watched by 6.29m (34%) at 7pm.

Yesterday's instalment of Neighbours, which featured the Parkers' car crash, pulled in the soap's largest audience since June 17, with 1.6m (12%) tuning in at 5.30pm on Five. Its repeat at 7pm on Fiver added 280k (1.7%).

Hollyoaks' third screening of its non-linear week fared relatively well again, interesting 1.49m (8.6%) at 6.30pm. Channel 4+1's timeshift repeat had 182k (1%).

E4's first look managed 504k (3%), while its repeat on E4+1 added 167k (0.9%).

BBC One's daily dose of Doctors, yesterday titled 'The Very Thought Of You', logged 1.44m (23.9%).

Home and Away's offering at 6pm averaged 1.23m (7.7%), before Fiver's first look put in 501k (3.2%).
