Coronation Street was the most-watched soap yesterday evening, with 8.2m tuning in for its extra mid-week episode.

The 7.30pm instalment, which saw Norris finally break down over his half-brother Ramsay's death, drew 8.19m (39.3%). ITV2's repeat at 12.45am added 109k (4.3%).

Emmerdale's midweek outing, which saw Michael reveal to Debbie that he's engaged, logged 6.27m (33.4%) at 7pm.

BBC One's daily dose of Doctors at 1.45pm, titled 'Harry - The Arrow Flies', put in 1.48m (22.2%).

Channel 4's screening of Hollyoaks had 1.41m (8%) at its usual time of 6.30pm, before E4's first look interested 446k (2.6%).

The aftermath of Bridget's death during yesterday's Neighbours was seen by 1.16m (9%) at 5.30pm, while a further 264k (1.5%) tuned in for Fiver's repeat at 7pm.

Home and Away's offering at 6.30pm, which featured Charlie's shock revelation to Ruby that she's her mother, managed 985k (6%) at 6pm. Fiver's first look 30 minutes later on Fiver was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day with 634k (4%).
