The actress, who plays Eileen Grimshaw on the Weatherfield drama, revealed that she doesn't have time to consider the forthcoming milestone because she is so busy with her current storylines.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, she explained: "I don't think any of us really know what to expect or how big it's going to be. There isn't ever time here to think beyond the next six months, so it just creeps up on you and is there.
"But hopefully it's going to be a great year for Corrie. It deserves to be."
The ITV1 show will mark its 50th birthday next year. Though there has been speculation about a planned musical and surprise comebacks for popular characters from the past, bosses have so far kept tight-lipped about what viewers can expect.
Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts) and Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald) both recently dismissed rumours that they would return for the occasion.
