'Enders tops Corrie again in Thursday ratings

EastEnders beat its ITV rival Coronation Street again for the fifth time since the commercial broadcaster revamped its soap and drama lineup in July.

BBC One's edition of EastEnders, during which Shirley told Jack she wants in on his scheme, was watched by 8.03m (37.2%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added a further 775k (4.5%).

Meanwhile, Coronation Street's offering, during which Helen and Barry Connor returned to the Street, drew 7.86m (33.1%). ITV2's repeat showing added 386k (2.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale's double bill at 7pm and 8pm, which featured Faye interrogating Katie and a fight between Vincent and Ashley, was seen by 6.51m (32.8%) and 6.6m (30.1%).

BBC One's instalment of Doctors managed 1.63m (24.1%) at 1.45pm.

Channel 4's screening of Hollyoaks at 6.30pm had 1.26m (6.6%), before E4's first look interested 352k (1.9%).

Neighbours' outing, which saw Dan attend his first Gamblers Anonymous meeting, logged 1.51m (10.8%) at 5.30pm, while Fiver's repeat added 175k (0.9%).

Five's Home and Away, which featured Jai's attempts to reunite with Annie, averaged 1.17m (6.8%) at 6pm, while 540k (3.1%) tuned in for Fiver's first look half an hour later.
