
EastEnders was the most-watched soap yesterday evening, overnight figures show.
The Walford serial's second outing of the week, during which Heather gave birth to her son George Michael Trott, pulled in 8.77m (40.4%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's repeat drew its highest audience since September 8, averaging 959k (5.5%) at 10pm. It was also the most-watched multichannel programme of the day.
ITV1's edition of Emmerdale, which saw Leyla give in to Nathan's charm offensive, put in 6.82m (33.3%) at 7pm.
Doctors' instalment, titled 'Soul Mates', interested 1.74m (23%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Nancy and Kris's trip to see Zoe in prison during yesterday's screening of Hollyoaks was watched by 1.58m (8.1%) at 6.30pm, while 414k (2.2%) tuned in for E4's first look 30 minutes later.
Home and Away managed 1.14m (6.4%) at 6pm, while 549k (3%) watched Fiver's first look at 6.30pm.
