
BBC soap EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Tuesday, early figures show.
The Walford serial's second outing of the week drew 8.79m (39.1%) between 7.30pm and 8pm, before BBC Three's 10pm repeat added a further 810k (4.4%) and was the most-watched programme of the day.
Emmerdale's offering, meanwhile, averaged 6.93m (33.2%) at 7pm.
Newt's decision to meet the real Rae during the evening's Hollyoaks was seen by 1.74m (8.5%), before a further 530k (2.7%) tuned in for E4's first look.

Five's edition of Neighbours at 5.30pm put in 1.53m (9.8%), while Fiver's 7pm repeat took 331k (1.7%).
Grant's murder in Home and Away was watched by 1.1m (5.9%), before 562k (3%) switched over to Fiver immediately afterwards for the channel's first look.
