Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Wednesday, figures show.

The Manchester soap's third episode of the week, in which Jake fell into Michelle's life, averaged 8.75m (39.2%) at 7.30pm, before ITV2's repeat at 12.30am added 134k (3.7%).

Emmerdale's outing at 7pm, which saw Vincent protesting his innocence following Sally's untruthful violence claims, averaged 6.83m (33.1%).

BBC One's edition of Doctors, titled 'Reverberation, interested 1.58m (20.3%) at 1.45pm.

Meanwhile, Cheryl and Gilly's kiss during Hollyoaks was seen by 1.61m (7.9%), while E4's first look put in 365k (1.9%).

Five's episodes of Neighbours and Home and Away interested 1.43m (9.1%) and 1.12m (5.9%) in the hour from 5.30pm.

Fiver's first look at the Summer Bay soap had 525k (2.8%), while 221k (1.2%) tuned in for Neighbours' timeshift repeat at 7pm.
