
Just over 9m saw Coronation Street's Tony Gordon confess to Roy Cropper that he killed Liam Connor during Friday night's climactic episode.
The Weatherfield soap's final two episodes of the week, in which a hospital-bound Tony made the shock deathbed revelation to Roy, drew 8.41m (38.3%) and 9.01m (38.2%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.
ITV2's repeats in the hour from 12.05am added 286k (4.6%) and 232k (5.2%).
BBC One's edition of EastEnders, during which Lucas and Owen came to blows, pulled in 7.95m (35.3%). BBC Three's repeat added a further 626k (3.4%) at 10pm and was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day.

BBC One's daily dose of Doctors, titled 'Dead Honest', managed 1.61m (21.1%) at its usual time of 1.45pm.
Neighbours' transmission at 5.30pm on Five put in 1.57m (10%), while a further 312k (1.6%) caught Fiver's repeat at 7pm.
Channel 4's outing of Hollyoaks logged 1.46m (7.3%) at 6.30pm, before E4's first look delivered 318k (1.7%) half an hour later.
Home and Away's final episode of the week had 1.17m (6.4%). Fiver's first look turned in 623k (3.4%).
