Coronation Street led the soap ratings yesterday evening, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap's first two episodes of the week, in which Maria demanded answers from Roy and Joe was confronted by a debt collector, were seen by 9.31m (39.8%) and 9.58m (38.6%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from midnight added 117k (2.5%) and 89k (2.7%).

Ronnie and Owen's kiss during EastEnders' outing drew 8.85m (36.7%) at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, adding a further 693k (3.7%).

Emmerdale's offering, which saw Leyla confess all to David, put in 7.28m (33.7%) at 7pm.

Channel 4's 6.30pm screening of Hollyoaks averaged 1.68m (7.9%), while its timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 had 125k (0.6%).

E4's first look interested 398k (2%) at 7pm. Its repeat an hour later on E4+1 added 111k (0.5%).

Doctors' episode, yesterday titled 'Robbed', put in 1.64m (23.5%) at its usual time of 1.45pm.

Five's Australian hour from 5.30pm saw 1.59m (9.9%) tune in for Neighbours, while 1.24m (6.3%) stayed for the second half hour to watch Home and Away.

Home and Away's first look on Fiver took 569k (2.9%) at 6.30pm, before Neighbours' repeat at 7pm added 312k (1.5%).
