Corrie stars face pay cut
Coronation Street stars will lose up to £60,000 from their salaries, following the axing of the ITV1 weekend omnibus, The People claims today.

Last month, the show's stars were receiving 30% bonuses, thanks to the weekend repeats. Long-serving cast-members, including Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth), Sue Nicholls (Audrey Roberts), Barbara Knox (Rita Sullivan) and Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin) were receiving £60,000 in bonuses.

Now weekend repeats will be shown on ITV2 - but the show's stars receive much smaller bonuses from the new arrangement.

A source told the newspaper, "The cast are livid. They all stand to lose a sizeable sum. They won't accept this without a fight."

A spokesman said, "We can't comment on cast contracts."
