BBC soap EastEnders was the most-watched soap yesterday, according to overnight figures.

The Walford serial's latest edition, during which Owen crashed Denise's hen night and begged her not to marry Lucas, pulled in 8.44m (36.7%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's repeat from 10.30pm added a further 428k (2.8%).

Emmerdale's screening, in which Debbie tried to shut her mother out of her life, logged 6.88m (32.1%) at 7pm.

BBC One's daily dose of Doctors, yesterday titled 'Duality', drew a respectable 1.95m (26.7%) at 1.45pm.

Hollyoaks' latest offering took 1.63m (7.8%) at 6.30pm, before its timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 added 103k (0.5%).

E4's first look then interested 496k (2.5%), while E4+1's repeat an hour later added 178k (0.8%).

Five's Australian hour began with 1.49m (9.2%) tuning in for Neighbours from 5.30pm, before Home and Away had 1.07m (5.6%).

Home and Away's first look averaged 515k (2.7%) at 7pm on Fiver and Neighbours' 7pm repeat managed 246k (1.2%).
