Sunita's Corrie return draws 7.8m
Shobna Gulati's return to Coronation Street as Sunita Alahan averaged around 7.8m last night, according to early figures.

The Weatherfield soap's third episode of the week, during which Dev visited Sunita to confront her about her engagement, delivered 7.79m (34.2%) from 8.30pm. ITV2's repeat at 12.40am added 145k (4.6%).

BBC One's latest instalment of EastEnders, which saw Whitney storm the courtroom during Tony's trial, logged 7.65m (37.2%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, adding a further 884k (4.9%).

Aaron's near-kiss with his best friend Adam during Emmerdale's double bill was seen by 6.62m (33.2%) and 6.97m (32.1%) at 7pm and 8pm respectively.

Five's Neighbours averaged 1.6m (10.5%) from 5.30pm, before its 7pm repeat on Fiver added 278k (1.5%).

BBC One's daily appointment with Doctors, yesterday titled 'Equally Cursed and Blessed', took 1.45m (21.6%) in its usual timeslot of 1.45pm.

Hollyoaks' screening interested 1.39m (7.2%) at 6.30pm, before 437k (2.3%) switched over to see E4's first look half an hour later. E4+1's timeshift showing added 139k (0.7%).

Five's transmission of Home and Away at 6pm put in 1.02m (5.7%), while the first look on Fiver managed 591k (3.3%).
