She has apparently begged the show's bosses to cause a split between Emily and vet husband Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and wants her to become a strong single woman fending for herself, reports the Daily Star.
She told a fan magazine: "Emily's always had a man. It would be nice to see her as an independent woman.
"I've been simmering along for a while as a supporting player. Now they're opening the door."
