14m tune in for Den's demise
Over 14 million viewers tuned in to watch the demise of Dirty Den last night, according to unofficial overnight data.

The dramatic EastEnders one-hour special celebrated 20 years of the soap, and saw Den die after being confronted by Zoe, Chrissie and Sam in the Queen Vic.

The episode averaged 13.7 million viewers, peaking at 14.2 million in the final fifteen minutes.

Almost 60% of the viewing public watched the episode, according to the figures, leaving ITV1 with a share of 13%.

Den's shock return to the soap in September 2003 pulled in over 16 million viewers for BBC One.
