Former Neighbours star Jason Donovan could soon be making his way to Albert Square.
According to the Daily Star today, the actor - who played Scott Robinson in the Aussie soap - is expected to finalise a deal "in the next few days."
Donovan, who enjoyed a brief pop career after quitting Neighbours in 1989, recently commented that he would love to appear in EastEnders.
"It's not signed and sealed yet but talks between the two parties have taken place and should conclude in the next few days," a friend told the newspaper.
"Discussions have touched on the role Jason would play and how he would be written into the script. Both parties seem pretty excited at the prospect."
A show source apparently added: "The intention is to bring Jason in as a bit of a roaming heart-throb. His character will be a real hit with the Walford ladies."
