EastEnders triumphed in the Thursday evening soap battle for the fifth consecutive week, early data shows.

Last night's edition of the Albert Square serial, which saw Lucy offer Jane the opportunity to raise her baby when it's born, pulled in 9.42m (41.3%) at 7.30pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added a further 849k (4.3%).

Coronation Street's third outing of the week averaged 8.71m (35%) - its lowest Thursday ratings this year. ITV2's repeat from 11.30pm added 127k (1.6%).

ITV's double bill of Emmerdale, which saw Nathan blackmail his mother Natasha, before taking her for every penny, pulled in 7.3m (33.7%) and 7.76m (32.4%) at 7pm and 8pm.

ITV2's repeats in the hour from 12.55am added a further 98k (3.8%) and 103k (5.1%) respectively.

Doctors' screening, yesterday titled 'Faith', drew 1.61m (24.2%) in its usual afternoon slot of 1.45pm.

Five's Australian hour began with 1.45m (9.7%) tuning in for Neighbours, while Home and Away put in 1m (5.5%) half an hour later.

Fiver's first look at this evening's Home and Away took 589k (2.9%), before 179k (0.8%) caught Neighbours' 7pm repeat.

The shock discovery of a body during Channel 4's latest showing of Hollyoaks was watched by 1.28m (6.3%). E4's first look interested 438k (2%) from 7pm.
