'Corrie' turns down Atomic Kitten

Coronation Street bosses have dashed Kerry Katona's hopes of appearing on the street.

Although the former Atomic Kitten thought that she could follow in the footsteps of Keith Duffy in joining the soap, the show's bosses had other ideas, saying that she was not suitable to work in Mike Baldwin's factory.

A show insider told The Sun: "Kerry naively thought that because she is a bit of a celeb she would walk into the Street. Now she knows that is not the case."

While Kerry will not be appearing in the soap, it was yesterday rumoured that Pirates Of The Caribbean star Orlando Bloom could be walking the street's cobbles.
