In an interview with Entertainment Today, Marcia Cross (Bree Van Der Kamp) said that her on-screen husband Rex was really dead; at least, "as far as I know."
She answered positively when asked if undercover plumber Mike Delfino would survive, with Nicolette Sheridan (Edie Britt) pointing out: "He has to survive, who are we going to fight over?"
Sheridan added: "[But] I think she's set her sights a lot higher than the plumber. It's quite brilliant actually. Someone near and dear."
Edie's character will come further to the foreground in season two, with new storylines including the introduction of her six-year-old son.
As for the future of Carlos Solis, actor Ricardo Chavira commented: "I don't know, maybe a little prison triste or something. I honestly have no idea; they haven't told me too much. I'm hoping for a bit of vindication that probably won't happen."
The group also promised that the season's major mystery involving newcomers the Applewhites would deliver, with Mehcad Brooks (Josh Applewhite) noting: "[It's] so deep is stupifies even me."
