Friday 'Hollyoaks' logs 640,000

Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks pulled an average audience of 640k (4.3%) yesterday evening, early figures show.

The screening, which saw Josh take the stand in court, drew the serial's lowest ever 6.30pm ratings.

E4's first look took 187k (1.2%) half an hour later.

Meanwhile, Zöe Lucker's first episode as glamourous businesswoman Vanessa Gold logged the soap's lowest ratings in almost a year. The screening - which was also Bryan Kirkwood's first as co-executive producer - managed 4.34m (20.7%) at 8pm.

It's previous low came last year on July 7 when 4.71m (21%) saw Minty confront Dawn about her affair with Phil.

Last night's BBC Three repeat pulled in a further 1.32m (6.6%).

Emmerdale was the most-watched soap of the evening, taking 5.67m (35.4%) at 7pm. ITV2's repeat at 12.40am added 118k (4.6%).

Doctors' screening, yesterday titled 'Class Act', interested 1.18m (19.3%) at 1.45pm.

Five's Neighbours put in 1.11m (10%) at 5.30pm, before Home and Away had 666k (4.8%).

Fiver's first look at Monday's Home and Away took 403k (2.7%), while Neighbours' 7pm repeat added 109k (0.7%).
