'Dallas' matriarch Miss Ellie dies, age 82

Barbara Bel Geddes, better known as the matriarch Miss Ellie in Dallas, has died at the age of 82.
Lewis Bennett, cousin of the actress, confirmed that she had died of lung cancer at her home in Maine on Monday.
Geddes won an best actress Emmy in 1980 for her role as Miss Ellie, a character she played from 1978 to 1991.
She also starred in the Hitchcock thriller Vertigo.
