Corrie's Kate Ford targeted by stalker

Coronation Street's Kate Ford has been targeted by a stalker who posted a threatening letter to her home.

The actress, who plays Tracy Barlow in the soap, was forced to call in detectives to investigate the matter last week. Two other sinister letters, believed to be from the same person, have arrived at the show's studio in Manchester.

"Kate was really shaken up," a friend told The People. "She's very concerned that someone has discovered where she lives."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed, "We were called in on Thursday by Granada TV who had received some suspicious mail. It has been seized by police and investigations are continuing."

A spokesman for the soap added, "We have a duty to protect the cast."
