Outgoing Coronation Street producer Tony Wood has confirmed that he is to join Mersey TV.
Wood, who has spent two years at the helm of ITV's flagship soap, will take up the position of creative director at the Hollyoaks firm in the new year.
"[Joining] Mersey Television feels like I am going home as I began my career working on Brookside," said Wood. "In the spirit of the company's new direction I'm happy to shape the next phase of its expansion and development plans."
Ex-Emmerdale producer Steve Frost has been tapped to replace Wood at Corrie.
