Soaps Ratings Roundup: August 9

Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Monday with 8.78m (37.7%) for its second instalment.

Earlier at 7.30pm, 8.42m (40.2%) watched Lewis kiss Deirdre.

EastEnders had 8.44m (36.9%) for Janine's marriage proposal to Ryan. BBC Three's repeat grabbed 780k (3.8%).

Elsewhere, 6.81m (34.9%) watched Ryan be refused bail in Emmerdale.

Hollyoaks conjured up 1.26m (7%), with a further 486k watching E4's first look. Neighbours, meanwhile, pulled in 1.27m (9.6%), and Doctors averaged 1.46m (18.7%).
